If you know Cake Beauty, you know their products are amazingly nourishing and, to be honest, yummy. Now by that, I mean they smell absolutely delicious – don’t go trying to eat them though! They’ve just released their amazing brown sugar body scrub ($32 at cakebeauty.com) in two of their signature scents, and I was lucky enough to give the scrub in “Desserted Island” a try.
First things first – this smells divine. It smells like cupcakes and an island all rolled into one (it’s got hints of vanilla and coconut), which just happen to be two of my favourite things. It’s quite sweet smelling, and the scent lasts even after you’ve washed it off. They do also have their body mousse available in the same scent if you want to keep it lasting long after you’ve dried off.
I love the texture of this – the scrub exfoliates with turbinado sugar – which results in grains that are larger than I’ve been used to finding in other body scrubs, but I find that it does an amazing job of buffing away the dry skin. I found that massaging this into my skin felt extremely relaxing and soothing – probably the closest I’m going to come to a spa treatment right now, and I’ll take it. It’s also extremely nourishing – it contains a combination of cocoa butter, sunflower seed oil, olive oil and coconut oils which leaves your skin feeling very soft and moisturized. The only thing you have to worry about is making sure you give the tub a little spray or wipe down after as it does leave a bit of a slippery residue, and we definitely want to avoid any falls next time you get it!
This is hands down one of the best scrubs I’ve ever used. It may be a little pricier, but if you’ve ever used anything by Cake before you know their products are worth it and provide results. If you don’t mind spending a little extra to give your skin a treat, especially in this colder, winter weather, it’s worth it to give this vacation in a jar a try. I’m loving everything about it!
