Last night was the 2013 People’s Choice Awards hosted by the hilarious Kaley Cuoco, which means it’s time to check out the beauty hits and misses from the show. All in all, I have to say that I think most of the celebs played it pretty safe beauty-wise, with no real standouts for me. I’d have to say the parts that excited me the most (and the least) were a couple of the hairstyles. Check out my fave and least fave looks from the night.
Hits:
I love Lea Michele’s gorgeous bombshell hair, but this braided, gladiator-esque updo was really cute and playful. Paired with simple eye makeup (she kept it fun with purple tinted mascara – Lancome Hypnose Doll Lashes Mascara in So Purple) and a nude lip, she looks so fresh and youthful.
I’ll admit it – I’m not the biggest Taylor Swift fan out there, but I am really loving her look from last night’s awards. She looks more mature and sexy, with smouldering, smoky bronze eyes. I love her swept back updo as well – it all comes together really nicely. It was really nice to see her try a look that is a little more daring than usual for her – maybe a breakup does T Swift good?
I am looooving host Kaley Cuoco’s half-up hairstyle. The big waves are so pretty, and this looks just screams Brigitte Bardot. Thick liner and a pale pink lip add to a look that is very feminine and oh so lovely.
Misses:
Oh, X-tina. I know, you’re trying, but this just isn’t cutting it for me. Christina’s hair was a major fail for me tonight – it looked flat and greasy – and not at all flattering. While she’s still got the voice, I think it’s time for a look that matches, and the past year hasn’t been a great one for Miss Aguilera, style-wise. Between this and her looks on The Voice, I think it might be time to find a new makeup artist/hair stylist.
