While attending the Lucian Matis show at One King West Friday night, I couldn’t take my eyes off his stunning creations – full of black and white, with lots of volume, a little bit of fur, and a whole lot of turtleneck. However there was something else that caught my attention… The models’ manis. I loved the edgy, graphic designs that Revlon Nail Expert Leeanne Colley created that perfectly played off the geometric shapes and colour theme of Matis’ FW 2013 collection.
The nails matched up perfectly with Matis’ vision. Colley says, ““I created a combination of sharp geometrical lines to complement Lucian’s monochromatic look. The whites in the collection are winter whites, soft and creamy not stark. I’ve combined them with a rich charcoal gray and strong black accents.”
Revlon’s Global Artistic Director, Gucci Westman, also worked with Matis to create the bold, mod look for the models eyes, saying “The inspiration for this look was Lucian’s gorgeous, monochromatic colour palette while incorporating Safari Khaki tones to the eye. This look is also very much inspired by the 60s, specifically, the German model, Veruschka.”
The products used in the nail look: Revlon Nail Enamel in Iconic, Revlon Nail Enamel in Timeless, Revlon Top Speed Fast Dry Nail Enamel in Spirit, Revlon Classic Nail Enamel in Matte Top Coat, and the new Revlon ColorStay Longwear Nail Enamel in Porcelain (will be available in May 2013).
