When you’re going to be wearing lipstick for a while (going out all night, long work day, weddings, etc.), you know you want it to last as long as possible so your lips always look great. This trick is going to help you get the most out of your lipstick, so you aren’t having to reapply as often (hello – we all know how lipstick application can look after a couple of drinks on girls night!). Read on for more.
Step 1: Moisturize! Since you’re going to be wearing this lipstick for a while, you don’t want your lips to dry out or it won’t be pretty. Apply a light layer of your favourite balm to give your lips a little love.
Step 2: Line. Line your lips with a lip liner that matches your lipstick. I actually prefer to use a clear liner so I don’t have to worry about messing up or mismatching (I’m using Yves Rocher Flawless Lip Liner in 01 Incolore). This step will prevent your lipstick from bleeding, feathering and traveling.
Step 3: Apply one coat of your favourite lipstick (I used Rimmel Lasting Finish Matte by Kate Moss Lipstick in 109).
Step 4: Set. Pat on a layer of pressed or loose powder onto the first coat of lipstick. This will help set the colour so it lasts longer.
Step 5: Reapply your lipstick on top of the powder for the final step – this will adhere to the powder and will leave your lips looking perfect.
