Ahh fall. Time to play with colours, textures and fabrics. I know we’re just getting into the swing of summer now (Toronto heatwave, anyone?) but I’m already crushing on the Essie Fall 2013 Collection. This 6-shade combination is set to bring the focus on fabrics, with shades inspired by flannels, lace, knits and silk twill.
“I love the idea of creating polish that’s like the proverbial boyfriend sweater – in this case, a blazer borrowed from the boys.” says Essie Weingarten, brand founder and Creative Director. “Creating nail colour with a warm and fuzzy feeling can be tricky, but when you get it right, it really is like putting on your favourite sweater,” she says of the collection.
Check out my Essie Fall 2013 swatches below and let me know which shades you can’t wait to wrap yourself up in this fall. I’m amazed at the fact that all of these shades took my breath away once they were applied. In the bottle, the look great, but once on the nail they look amazing. If I had to pick favourites (which I’m having a hard time doing right now), I would have to say After School Boy Blazer and The Lace Is On have to be at the top of my list.
Essie Nail Lacquer in For The Twill Of It – “Medium brown with reflective green shimmer” – I would definitely have to say this falls more on the silver side than brown – it’s has hints of purple and green at certain angles that reminds me of a dragonfly.
Essie Nail Lacquer in The Lace Is On – “Toned pearlescent fuchsia”
Essie Nail Lacquer in Twin Sweater Set – “Vibrant crimson red”
Essie Nail Lacquer in After School Boy Blazer – “Deep midnight blue”
Essie Nail Lacquer in Cashmere Bathrobe – “True flannel grey” – it did not capture so well, but this shade does have pretty little flecks of glitter that give it a lot of dimension.
Essie Nail Lacquer in Vested Interest – “Cool teal grey”
