To me, nothing is more exciting than big, bold, beautiful colour. Throw a pigmented eye shadow down in front of my and I will be all over it. So, naturally, I was unbelievably excited when an e-mail showing off the new NARS Guy Bourdin Holiday 2013 Collection popped up in my inbox. NARS is known for being unafraid to play with colour, and this collection lends more credibility to that. With an array of Cinematic Eyeshadows, Cinematic Lipsticks, Blushes and Nail Polishes in high-fashion colours (not to mention a few amazing gifting sets), this collection is ideal for those who want to play around with their look and aren’t afraid to experiment. I’ve gotten my hands on a few pieces from this collection and have showcased them for you below.
NARS Cinematic Eyeshadow in Bad Behaviour and Rage ($29 ea) – This collection comes with a little excitement – new formulation of the Cinematic Eyeshadow for a result that is smooth and sleek. These two shades are gorgeous, and I can’t wait to play with them together. Bad Behaviour is a dark pewter with a hint of silver shimmer, while Rage is a gorgeous bold purple with a lighter purple shimmer that gives it a lot of dimension. These shadows are so pigmented, you really don’t need to use a lot for perfect colour, but you can easily build them both up for a more intense look.
NARS One Night Stand Cheek Palette ($72) – Oh em gee. If you’re a blush lover, or a NARS lover, or a makeup lover in general, you are going to want to put this on your Christmas list. I repeat – put this on your Christmas list. Right at the top. I’ll give you a minute, go ahead.
Ok, so this palette is a collection of 6 unbelievably gorgeous cheek shades: Devotee Highlighting Blush (New shade, alabaster glow), Mistinguette Blush (New shade, bright pink), Goulue Blush (New shade, fleshy pink), Laguna Bronzer (Deep brown with golden shimmer), Orgasm Blush (as if you don’t know what this one is – peachy pink with golden shimmer) and Deep Throat Blush (sheer peach). This palette really has all of your blush-loving bases covered and man, these are all SO amazing. Devotee was automatically one of my favourites – it’s a really fair-toned highlighter with just the right amount of shimmer that I can’t wait to use. And of course, any palette with Orgasm included is going to be a hit. Smooth textures and great colour make these blushes some of my favourites.
What are your thoughts on this collection? Will you be adding the One Night Stand palette to your wish list?
