While this winter continues to drag on (I’ve seen enough snow the past few months to last me until 2024), the spring 2014 collections that keep showing up are at least helping to get me into a warmer state of mind.  Allow me to present to you the Clarins Opalescence Collection for Spring 2014, the latest to grace my desk.  This combination of shades and products gives off a romantic, feminine vibe.  Read on to take a look at a few of the items available in this collection.

Opalescence celebrates the end of winter with a harmony of delicate, luminous colours.  The weather turns milder, full of softness and lightness.  It’s time for delicate, romantic make-up, bursting with freshness.  The complexion glows.  Rosy cheeks express a beautiful, poetic timidity.  The eyes light up and lips are glossy!

Clarins Ombre Minerale 4 Couleurs Palette in Vibrant Light: This palette is beautiful.  The colours are eye-brightening and stunning, and I can’t wait to wear it.  I really love the combination of the pink and grey shades for the shadow, while the purple acts as a fantastic liner and a pop of colour.  The silver, shimmery shade is so perfect for adding a little light and highlighting – it has more of a creamy feel to it so it will help to set the look.  Also to be noted: this palette can be used wet or dry depending on the intensity you want to create.

Clarins Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base in Rose: This base was designed to give a more luminous complexion, with imperfections and shadows being hidden by the colours found in it.  It can be worn on its own over your regular skincare products or as a base for foundation.  I do have to say on its own I didn’t find much of a difference – it gave a hint of a healthy sheen to my skin but that was pretty much all I noticed.  It does work better as a base for makeup, prolonging the life of foundation and concealer.

Clarins Multi-Blush in Candy: This creamy blush comes in the prettiest rose-gold shade, with a hint of glow.  It gives off the healthiest flush once applied and can be blended in easily for a more natural look.  I adore this formula – it’s extremely creamy and easy to apply but transforms to a powder-like finish once applied.

Clarins Joli Rouge Brillant in Pink Orchid: Oh, this lipstick is just lovely.  It adds a very light hint of colour which enhances your lips’ natural shade and gives a ton of shine. Its smooth, moisturising and I really find that it makes my lips look extremely full and plump!

Clarins Gloss Prodige in Crystal: I firmly believe that every woman needs a clear gloss, and this one helped to confirm my belief.  It goes with anything and can help to enhance any lip colour.  This one is packed with shine and has a thicker formula, which I love, along with a non-sticky finish.  I’ll be keeping this one in my purse for a while!
