Here in Toronto we finally got a glimpse of spring this past week – I swear, everyone flocked to the patios in t-shirts… Only to be sorely disappointed when it proceeded to snow (SNOW!) the next day. The warm weather is really taking its sweet time to show up, so I’m turning once again to new summer beauty collections to help me feel the warmth. Today’s collection is one that particularly turns up the heat – the Lise Watier Eden Tropical Collection for Summer 2014. Between the lush, tropical packaging and hot shades I’m drooling over this collection and can’t wait to put it to use.
Go deep into the heart of a mysteriously exotic world to find a collection of lush colours that evoke the hues of a tropical paradise.
Lise Watier Palette Eden Tropical ($43, Limited Edition) – The shades included in this limited edition eyeshadow palette are gorgeous and perfectly capture the feel of the tropics while still being wearable. These shadows have an almost creamy feel too them and nice pigment (although somewhat light in some shades) with a multi-dimensional feel. One thing to note – these are all very shimmery shadows, so if you prefer something that falls more on the matte side this may not be for you. I find that they are great on their own but are also perfect for using as highlighting shades.
Lise Watier Eden Tropical Bronzing Powder ($38, Limited Edition) – This bronzing powder is, hands down, my favourite part of the collection. How could you have a tropical-themed collection without a gorgeou bronzing powder? I love the fact that this bronzer has a matte finish – while I can appreciate a bit of shimmer to add more of a sun-kissed look, matte bronzers tend to blend in better (and don’t shine a spotlight on imperfections). I love everything about this – the gorgeous exotic motif (which seems almost aztec to me) and the beautiful combination of the bronzing powder and peachy blush which work really well together. I also find that this shade can even work on fair skinned girls like myself as long as you start off light and build up the colour.
Lise Watier 24 HRS Gel Liner ($25, Limited Edition) – Here’s the deal. I love gel liners. One of my absolute go-tos is L’Oreal’s version and I love it to pieces. Needless to say, I was excited when I saw this one. It’s best applied with an angled eyeliner brush for the most precise results. It does apply smoothly, but I wasn’t completely sold on the consistency and results. It was nice, but not the best; I prefer a gel liner that is a bit more creamy to the touch.
Lise Watier Ombre Souffle Supreme in Tinkerbell ($24) – This shadow, on the other hand, I can get behind. I actually haven’t had a chance to experience the Ombre Souffle Supreme shadows in the past and was pleasantly surprised with the texture. Granted, with souffle in the title I should have known what I was in for, but was still really happy with the spongey, puffy feel of this. It led to smooth application with lots of colour payoff and minimal fallout, along with a beautiful shimmery finish.
Lise Watier Hydra Kiss Colour Balm in Coral Paradise ($22, Limited Edition) – Crayons for gown women, anyone? Another product that I couldn’t wait to try was this gloss balm. I’ve tried several from different brands and love how easily they apply, along with the sleek, glossy feel they give. Lise Watier’s take absolutely met my expectations. The colour came out great and left my lips looking shiny and full, without any waxy feeling. Not to mention the fact that this stick is packed with moisture that lasts and lasts.
Lise Watier Blush Creme Satin in Rose Eden ($24, Limited Edition) – Ooh, another pretty cream blush to add to my ever-growing collection. The colour is bright and cheerful and provides a great pop of colour with easily blendable coverage. So pretty!
What do you think of this collection for summer?
