Well, it’s music festival season again. We certainly have no shortage of them (think Osheaga, Digital Dreams, NXNE), and I know that one of the things that immediately pops into my head during this time is festival beauty! This is the perfect chance to have a little fun with your look and to play with a little colour. Throughout May and June I’m going to be taking part in the P&G Beauty Turn It Up challenges where myself and other Beauty United bloggers will be creating different themed looks – what better place to start than with festival beauty?
I had a ton of fun Herbal Essences, COVERGIRL and Olay Fresh Effects products to play with to help me create the perfect festival look. I started off by applying Olay Fresh Effects {BB Cream!} to give my skin an even base. This stuff feels great on the skin and even helps to add a kick of moisture, and then I threw some COVERGIRL TruMagic Sunkisser on to give me a bit of a glow (I’m the queen of SPF and my pale skin needs a bit of a boost sometimes!). For the eyes, I decided to rock a swipe of COVERGIRL Ink It! By Perfect Point Plus in Aquamarine Ink for a fun little pop of colour (I also added some black Ink It! liner underneath for a bit more drama) before adding COVERGIRL Bombshell Volume Mascara for big, bold lashes. I finished off the look with some COVERGIRL LipPerfection Jumbo Gloss Balm in Blush Twist for a tiny hint of a pink glow on the lips.
As for the hair, I think festival hair is all about being carefree. I like to add some wave, because when I’m out there dancing to my favourite artists in the sun I know my mane is going to have a mind of its own. I let my hair air dry before curling random pieces with my flat iron, then zapped it with Herbal Essences Naked Shine Sheer Shine Mist and Herbal Essences Naked Volume Flexible Hold Spritzer for some extra shine and lightweight hold. Side note: Have you smelled the Naked line yet? Holy moly, this stuff smells fantastic. I feel like I don’t even need to spritz on perfume when I’m using it! I also threw on a flower crown, because naturally you can’t have a music festival without a few flower crowns added in along the way!
What do you think of my festival beauty look? Would you like to give it a try as well? Well, good news… One of you will win the products listed above, plus Olay Fresh Effects {Everything Off!} Deluxe Makeup Removal Wet Cloths (gotta make sure you take it all off before bed!) and Herbal Essences Naked Dry Shampoo to give your hair next day life.
