Have you seen the trailer for the upcoming movie Jupiter Ascending? It looks pretty wild. It features Mila Kunis as Jupiter, a young woman destined to become “space royalty” in a sense, with a little help from hottie Channing Tatum. Sean Bean is in it too, though given his track record chances are slim that he’ll make it through to the film’s end. Check out the trailer:
Of course, this whimsical, intergalactic film could use some fun makeup to run alongside it, and the Pür Minerals Jupiter Ascending Collection nicely captures the feel of the movie. This limited edition collection is complete with a 6 shade eye shadow palette, liquid eyeliner and shimmering lip gloss. Take a look at the items and swatches below and let me know what you think!
The Pur Minerals Jupiter Ascending Palette contains 6 warm shades, sticking to shadows in the burgundy/brown family. Jupiter and Caine (appropriately named after Mila Kunis and Channing Tatum’s characters) are knockouts. Majesty and Destiny take on a more matte look and are perfect as a base and for shading, while the other 4 shades have a shimmery look to them. Jupiter is absolutely gorgeous, a warm burgundy that plays really well with the coppery-brown look of Caine – a match made in heaven. Or the cosmos, if that’s how you want to look at it Night Sky is a more muted greyish shadow which would make for a more appropriate neutral look. Cosmos isn’t crazy pigmented, but does a nice job of acting as a highlighter.
The Pur Minerals Galaxy Lip Gloss is lovely. With light pink pigmentation (it’s very sheer), the rose gold toned shimmer is the real star of this gloss. This flattering gloss is shiny, frosty & shimmery. I really appreciate the non-sticky feeling it leaves – it almost feels more like a balm once applied. Oh, and it comes with a light in the cap and a mirror on the side for easy application on the go (just don’t pull it out during the movie or you might get a few mean looks shot your way).
And last, but certainly not least, we have the Pur Minerals Outer Space Precision Eyeliner. This felt-tipped liquid liner comes to a nice, fine point to make precise application easy. It comes in a charcoal, night sky shade. Not too bold, but perfect for daytime wear. It’s very long-lasting and I find that it pretty much stays put once applied, but is easily removed with a cleanser or makeup remover.
All in all, I think this is a very cohesive little collection that captures the essence of the movie it’s based on. I absolutely love the palette! What do you think of the Pur Minerals Jupiter Ascending Collection?
