I have a slight obsession with Maybelline’s Color Tattoo Shadows. Their creamy gel formula is absolutely packed with colour, and they glide on the skin so smoothly – they’re a real dream come true for cream shadows fans. Inspired by the leather trend that was big on worldwide runways for F/W ’14, Maybelline has come out with a new Color Tattoo launch, which has tried to capture the leathery texture and transition this feel into the shadows. The Maybelline Color Tattoo Leather range consists of 5 shades with a bit of a matte look to them.
Most of these new shades come out matte, but a couple of them had a bit of a shimmery feeling them (the bronze-hued shadows). I actually like these more as I found they had a nicer finish. I had more issues with the matte shades as they had a tendency to apply a little bit streaky and needed to be blended in a lot more in order to give them a flawless finish – in this case it was best to start off light with application before building up the colour.
