I recently shared the news that a new makeup line from One Direction would be hitting stores soon, and I’ve now got one of the three limited edition sets to give you a quick peek before they become available. The set I’m showing you today is the Make Up by One Direction Take Me Home Collection. If you’re curious about the other sets, you can get an idea of what they will look like in this post!
Anyways, here’s a quick look at the Take Me Home collection. 1D fans will love it!
This kit contains everything you need for a full look, including eye shadow, liner, mascara, lipstick, lip gloss and nail polish!
The eyeshadow palette is a combination of 5 warm, golden shades. All of these applied really nicely and have great pigmentation (the shimmery peach shade is gorgeous) and are perfect for creating a flirty bronzed look. The only shade I wasn’t a fan of is the golden one. It’s sparkly with a creamy texture that I find doesn’t apply very nicely. The matching liner is very smooth and creamy, with a bronzed brown tone, but I find that it smudges quite easily and doesn’t necessarily stay put, making it more appropriate for pairing with a smoky look. This kit also comes with a tube of Little Black Dress Volumizing Mascara to help pump your lashes up and to complete the eye look.
Moving onto the lips, this kit contains a lipstick in Last First Kiss (a pale pink shade) and Liquilights Glow Gloss in Kiss You (bright, neon orange that glows under a black light). The lipstick is a really pretty, sheer pink which is perfect for pairing up with this golden eye, and gives off just a bit of a tint. I’m not sure how I feel about the gloss though. The shade is a bit too orange for me and I would prefer if it had a bit more of a coral feel to it.
Of course, no look would be complete without the perfect polish. This polish, in the shade Live While We’re Young, is packed with both large and small gold glitter with a bit of a rosy feel to it. It’s pretty on its on although the glitter can be a little sparse for my taste, and would be perfect for adding a little dimension to another shade.
As a fun little bonus each of these kits comes with a set of stencils which can be used for temporary tattoos or to add a little flair to other items (perfect for back to school, right?).
