Well, New Year’s Eve is almost here.  It’s the perfect chance to get all glam and glitzy.  My favourite part?  There’s no need to be afraid of a little sparkle here and there – you can go all out, load on the glitter, and have a little fun.  In between trying to pick out the perfect NYE outfit and trying to decide where to go and what to do, I’ve put together a fun New Year’s Eve look with a little help from Hard Candy (available exclusively at Walmart) to help you get prepped for the big night.

I went with a few fun product from Hard Candy to put this look together.  I didn’t want it to be too over the top, but had fun adding some sparkle to my eyes and went with a more purple toned palette to add a bit of colour.  Check out the products I used and steps to recreate this look for your NYE!

  1. I started off by applying Sheer Envy Illuminating Primer to my fave to help prep the skin.  This primer has got quite a bit of sparkle to it, so you may want to go easy on it if you don’t want to end up looking like a vampire from Twilight.  It has a bit of a gel consistency, and helps to set everything up for makeup application.  I then used Glamoflauge Lite to cover up any redness and spots.
  2. For the eyes, I started off with Eye Def.  This shimmery, pearly liquid shadow actually worked perfectly as a base so help bring out the colour in the shadows.  From there, I used the Mod Quad baked eye shadow palette in Under the Moon for colour.  I used the lightest shade all over  up to the brow bone then applied the top right shade to the lid.  I used the bottom left shade in the crease to add some definition and a bit of the darkest shade to add a hint of liner.  After applying black mascara, I finished off with a bit of Lash Tinsel to add some sparkle and fun to my eyes.
  3. For the lips, I started off by applying All Glossed Up in Tickled Pink for a bit of a pink tint and then added a little Plumping Serum in Nude Beach for some more shine.

What will you be wearing for New Year’s Eve?
