John Frieda Frizz Ease Nourishing Oil Elixir Review (Guest Post from Jordana of Just J)

Hi everyone! My name is MizzJ and I’m the blogger behind Just J, a beauty and lifestyle blog hailing from beautiful Vancouver, Canada. Just J is mainly about my life, my rants, and my very honest opinions about skincare and makeup products. I’ll be holding down the fort today for Dee, so I hope you enjoy the post, and if you do, please feel free to visit me after 🙂

Over the past year, I’ve put my hair through some trials. I’ve permed it, dyed it and done daily heat styling to it. Although my hair is generally healthy and shiny, my tips could certainly use a little TLC and that was apparent through its dryness, split ends and general frizziness.

Enter in John Frieda’s Frizz Ease Nourishing Oil Elixir. Part of the popular Frizz Ease line, the Nourishing Oil Elixir is designed to repair, nourish and protect your hair. Applied to damp or dry hair, it provides an instant shot of moisture that helps to seal your hair strands and prevent frizz while amplifying shine. To use, all you need is one pump (or two if you have thicker or longer hair) to cover your entire head. Simply warm between your palms and comb through.

Considering it’s a hair product, the Nourishing Oil Elixir contains a surprisingly short list of ingredients, only six in fact! The main components of this oil are silicones, such as cyclopentasiloxane and dimethicone; both of these ingredients are very common in skincare, but here they act as a barrier to prevent moisture from leaving the hair and to provide a smooth surface. The other main ingredient in this product is argan oil, which is well known for its moisturizing properties.

Despite what you may think, the Nourishing Oil Elixir feels very lightweight and absorbs readily into hair. Immediately after applying, my hair feels smoother and there are way less flyaways. It also has a rich scent from the argan oil which is quite pleasant without being overpowering. I love to use this oil after I’ve curled my hair. I spread it between my palms and then use my hands to gently comb out my curls for softly defined waves that are sans frizz.

It’s also great for straight hair to smooth down those flyaways and give it a dazzling sheen. If you haven’t considered a hair oil before, then I definitely recommend you try this one! At around $10 for an 89 mL bottle, it’s great value for your money and has proven results.

Final Verdict: Buy
