I remember the craziness surrounding the original Melted Liquified Lipsticks that Too Faced released; everyone I knew went gaga for them. The amazing pigments, smooth (but not dry) formula and crazy shades were a big sell. I’m a big fan of liquid lipsticks – these amazing hybrids combine the best parts of a gloss and lipstick for a killer product – and was definitely impressed with these when they first launched.
Riding on the success of these they recently released a new collection consisting of 8 shades that brings the ’90s foiled lipstick look to 2015. When I read this description I was a little worried. I grew up in the ’90s and there are many things from that decade that I would rather stay buried in the past, and frosted lips aren’t at the top of the list of things I would like to see revived any time soon. But hey, I’m a beauty blogger, which means I’ll try anything once… And I’m glad I did. The new Too Faced Melted Metal Liquified Metallic Lipsticks ($25.00 CAD) do have a metallic finish, but it’s anything but tacky. The microscopic shimmer gives lips a beautiful multi-faceted glow while they’re bathed in gorgeous colour. I’m not as big of a fan of the lighter/more coral shades, but the darker shades have totally won me over – I’m looking at you Jelly, Violet & Dream House (bring it on, Barbie!). Take a look at the shades below and let me know what you think!
Peony – Metallic dusted rose
Bunny – metallic bubblegum
Debutante – metallic apricot rose
Tu-Tu – metallic warm flamingo
Macaron – metallic warm bright pink
Dream House – metallic electric fuchsia
Violet – metallic violet orchid
Jelly – metallic deep orchid (this one is the shit – I very, veryyy much recommend it)
What do you think of the new Too Faced Melted Metals? What shades would you like to try/have you tried?
