I’ve always had a thing for braids, starting when I was just a wee one who wanted to be Dorothy oh so badly. Growing up, my mom used to love playing with my hair and putting it in French braids for school – I even got to be a Dorothy in a figure skating carnival when I was about 9, which meant I was free to rock those braids while trying to stay away from the wicked witch.
Fast forward 20 or so years and I’m still completely digging the braid. Granted, my braiding style has evolved a bit and tends to be a little more boho than yellow brick road, but I love incorporating a fun braid somewhere into my look.
Kérastase Paris has put together the ultimate guide to braids, The Couture Book of Braids, to make it easier than ever to create the perfect braided look.
Inspired by the new Matérialiste All-Over Thickening Spray Gel (because we all know you gotta have a little texture to nail the perfect braid), this handy little guide covers a ton of gorgeous styles, with steps on how to achieve each one, tips on how to get the perfect braid, products to use and the perfect styling tools.
There are a few looks that I already can’t wait to try – I’m trying to decide which one I’m going to rock for a beach day tomorrow… I’m totally eyeing the Beach Wave Braid (above) right now. You can download your own copy of the book right here. Which braid are you going to try first?
Oh, and by the way Chris Pratt, I can totally free up my schedule if you ever need to practice your braiding skills.
