I fell in love with Rimmel’s matte Kate Moss lipstick collection a while back when it was released – I loved the colours, the texture and the matte finish. The deeper shades were so fantastic, and I know I wasn’t the only one impressed with the collection. When I found out that they were putting out a nude lineup, the Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Moss Nude Collection, which recently launched, I had super high hopes. I’m not always a nude lip kinda gal – I go for a bit more drama when it comes to my pout – I couldn’t wait to at least give it a try.
The collection is comprised of 4 nude shades and a bonus lip balm. I didn’t try the lip balm, so I can’t speak to that, but I did give the 4 lipstick shades a try. Read on for swatches and my thoughts on them below!
40 – The lightest shade in the collection. This lipstick is very light, and unfortunately just didn’t jive with me. It’s just way too light for me, and I’m hella pale even in the summer. It had a very patchy look when I applied it and gave me a bit of trouble as I tried to give it more of a smooth look. Unfortunately, this one was a strike for me. It might suit someone with more neutral undertones a little more – I do have more of a pink undertone to my complexion.
42 – This shade is a bit darker than 40, with more of a peach hue to it. Again, it is quite light, though not too pigmented. It’s not my first choice, but I can see myself wearing this from time to time – still a bit light with my complexion.
43 – The next shade down, this has a bit more of a tan look to it, which unfortunately didn’t seem to work too well for me. It came out a little too orange on my skin than I would have liked at first, but I got used to it after wearing for a little while. That being said, I think this would be a great match for someone with a bit more of a tan complexion or more golden tones.
45 – Finally, I found the shade that I personally can work with the most! The deepest shade of the 4 that I tried, and also the sheerest, gives off a rose tone that I really like. I personally prefer nudes that go a little darker and work with my natural lip colour – and that’s exactly what this shade does. It’s creamy and lovely and gives a really nice bit of rosy colour.
What do you think of the Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Moss Nude Collection? Will you be trying any shade from it?
