Watches aren’t typically part of my style. For the past few years, I’ve had one watch (A Nixon watch I got for my birthday a few years ago), which I love and wear for special occasions. I’ve had my eye on a rose gold Michael Kors watch for a while now – I know if I got my hands on it I would wear it all the time. I like watches, don’t get me wrong… I’ve just never really given them too much though.
A little while ago I heard from a company called JORD and was definitely intrigued. They specialize in really unique wooden watches – everything but the mechanical aspects & clasps are made completely of wood, with beautiful finished and a few different shade finishes. A good chunk of the watches were designed for men, but many of these are very much unisex and they’ve even started creating gorgeous watches for women (I’m so going to end up getting the Cora watch eventually).
I ended up selecting the Ely watch to try out. This unisex watch was one of the smaller styles (I don’t like wearing big, chunky watches). I went with the maple finish, as I really liked the bright, clean look. My watch soon arrived, and I couldn’t wait to take it out of its box so I could try it on. It came housed in a lovely wooden box to keep it safe and for future storage when I’m not wearing it.
The watch was perfectly sized to my wrist (if you let them know your wrist size, they can remove or add in additional links before sending so you don’t have to worry about it) and looked fantastic. I love how light it feels. I got a ton of compliments on it from friends and family as soon as I started wearing it! The watch is really nicely constructed and feels great on; since I’ve never seen or tried a wooden watch before I wasn’t really sure what to expect, but I love it!
