If you follow me on Instagram you no doubt caught a glimpse of the afternoon I spent with Indeed Labs at Cabana Pool Bar last week. I remember hearing about Indeed Labs when they first launched in Canada a few years ago, but I never really had a chance to try out the products. What I do remember is they were one of the first brands I heard of with a blurring products – not too long after they made their Canadian debut, blurring products from other brands started popping up, but I never managed to give it a try!
Anyways, I got to spend the afternoon lounging by the pool at Cabana with some of my besties while learning all about Indeed Labs’ all-star skincare lineup (available at Shoppers Drug Mart) and giving a few of the products a try. I found one thing extremely interesting; while most skincare companies focus on regimen based products, Indeed actually puts an emphasis on developing solution-based products. They create products that target specific skin issues, making them items that can easily be integrated into any skincare routine based on your needs. I find this to be a great idea – I mean, how many of us actually use an entire lineup from one brand – as the products tend to go a little bit outside of those you would typically find in your routine.
I was immediately drawn in by the bright and colourful packaging. I’ll admit it, I’m a huge sucker for anything that’s aesthetically pleasing – especially when bright colours are involved. Once I’d finally moved on from the packaging though, I was really intrigued by their unique technology and products – which, I should probably mention, are free of parabens, fragrances, colourants & sulfates… And aren’t tested on animals. I’ve been loving the Hydraluron mega moisture trio (consisting of a serum, moisture jelly and moisture boosting mask), which uses a hyaluronic acid-based formula to instantly hydrate and plump the skin. The jelly is especially refreshing, and leaves my skin feeling moisturized and glowing.
I’ve also been loooooving the Micro-Powder Exfoliator, which comes out in powder form. The micro fine powder is activated when water is added, and it lightly buffs away dead skin, leaving the complexion with an instantly refreshed appearance.
My favourite product so far has to be the Nanoblur instant skin perfector. This cream, which gives you “selfie-ready skin in seconds” gives the skin an airbrushed look once applied, blurring fine lines and large pores and minimizing shine. I’ve taken to applying this before my makeup, as it also acts perfectly as a primer, prepping the skin and leaving it mattified and looking great – and hey, you really don’t need to apply as much makeup as you think, since your skin is already looking pretty fab. One thing I will mention is that it’s best to “pat” makeup into the skin afterwards, as trying to blend it can result in flaking. I’ve shown a quick little before and after shot here. And trust me, not too many people see me sans makeup on a daily basis, but this stuff has made it a little easier to forego the full face before stepping out in public.
Have you ever tried any Indeed Labs products before?
