As I mentioned last week in my post on Maybelline’s new matte lippies, I’m pretty on board with the matte lip trend and am hoping that it sticks around for a while! With so many drugstore brands bringing out their own version, it’s easier (and more affordable) to pick up a few shades to add to your arsenal. I love that these brands are coming out with amazing formulas & great shade ranges!
Of course, L’Oreal Paris recently debuted their own version – the L’Oreal Paris Infallible Pro Matte Gloss ($13.99 CAD) – and I’ve gotten my hands on them. Available in 10 shades, they boast intense high pigment with long-lasting matte colour. And naturally, I had to put them to the test.
The formula is glorious. It’s whipped, it’s creamy (a little creamier than Maybelline’s) and quite thick. The colour goes on beautifully, and though they take a few minutes, they do dry to a mainly matte finish naturally. To increase the mattified look, I suggest lightly blotting the lips with a tissue. I really do love the formula, and found it to feel great on the lips without drying or flaking. The heart-shaped applicator is easy to use, with a pointed tip making defining the contours of the lip a snap. As for staying time, I found these to last quite long – a few hours for sure, though I did need to reapply after this time & after eating/drinking.
My fave shade? Right now (hell, I cycle through lippies like Leonard Dicaprio cycles through Victoria’s Secret Angels), it’s gotta be Rebel Rose, beautiful rose shade that errs on the berry side. Which shade do you like? Have you tried these yet?
