I’m going to inundate you with nail polish posts over the next few days, which I’m hoping you’re not upset about. I mean, why would you be? NAIL POLISH RULES.
Ha, anyways, today’s all about the Essie Resort 2016 collection. Yes, it’s been out for a little while, but it’s most definitely available right now & I’m hoping these swatches will help you find the perfect shade to get you through to the warmer weather if you’re living in the Toronto area and sick of the snow & cold. I mean, it’s April 8th and we could all use a pick me up.
Inspired by the beauty of India, Essie’s Global Color Designer Rebecca Minkoff curated this collection with the hopes of capturing the mix of colours, traditions and textures unique to this nation. Take a look below at the swatches and let me know what you think of the collection in the comments!
Essie Going Guru – “Omm! In this meditative mint lime I might have actually discovered fashion nirvana” – This pretty mint shade is right on the money for the season. It’s not too punchy, with a bit more subtlety than you would expect, and such a lovely shade (which I, of course, rocked on St. Patty’s).
Essie Delhi Dance – “They’re playing your song! Slip on this silky pink sari and hit the dance floor like a Bollywood superstar” – The perfect bubble gum pink, this is one of my favourite shades in the collection. It’s bright, has a ton of pigment, and is uber girly.
Essie Nama-stay the Night – “Up all night? (wink, wink) When you’re with this energetic Goa blue, sleep has nothing to do with it.” – Definitely the star shade of the collection, this beautiful blue captures the essence of India. I’m not usually one to wear blues, but this shade is going to be going into heavy rotation.
Essie Taj-Ma-Haul – “When you score this spicy marigold apricot, your shopping artistry becomes a wonder of the world” – It’s pretty, but not my favourite of this collection. This marigold shade is a little too muted for me (I prefer a bolder colour palette for spring), but does apply nicely.
Which shade is your fave?
