Although it may seem simple, matching your foundation and concealer to your skin tone, and each other, isn’t always an easy task. With so many different shades available, undertones coming into play, and different lighting playing tricks on your eyes, finding your perfect shades can be a bit of a challenge, but with the right products and a couple of tips, you can find a seamless match!
When looking for the perfect foundation and concealer, don’t be afraid to look around and try a few shades – the ones that work might surprise you! Compact foundations typically appear darker in the packaging than they do on your skin, so keep that in mind. It also helps to bring someone else along to take a look from a different perspective, and I strongly advise take a look at the shade that you’ve tried in natural light, not just in the store lighting, as you’ll most likely see a difference. Once you’ve found a shade or two that you think closely matches your skin tone, swipe them along your jawline on the side of your face. If it blends in and you don’t see a colour difference, you’ve met your match – make sure it blends in well and doesn’t sit on the skin. You’ll definitely see a change in colour if it doesn’t work for you. When you’ve found the concealer and foundation shades you love, try layering them on top of each other to ensure they work well together and blend in nicely.
