Another month, another exciting 3 piece Formula X Color Curators collection. This month, Formula X has released a trio of shades curated in collaboration with Mary Helen Bowers of Ballet Beautiful. The beautiful collection is dainty and definitely ballet inspired, with two delicate, feminine shades and a third with a bit of a girly edge.
Satin Slippers could not have been more appropriately named. I fell in love the instant I put the first coat on. This ivory polish, with delicate shimmer, is the equivalent of slipping your nails into a brand new pair of satin ballet slippers. Let your fingers dance in this dainty shade! You’ll need more than one coat of this one (the first is too sheer to wear on its own), and the finished look is tea party perfection.
A really intriguing shade, Lilac Fairy is a winner. An interesting cross between greige and purple, it’s not completely lilac but a really fab alternative to a nude, taking it to a “springier” level. It applies beautifully and has a really nice shine to it. Love it!
Finally, we have Ballet Barre, a more gunmetal shade with hints of charcoal in different light. It adds a bit of an edge to the collection without going too dark to take away from the daintiness of it, and would be great for adding accents to the other two shades. It does apply a little streaky – a couple of coats to smooth it out and you’re good to go – with an almost velvety finish.
What do you think of the Formula X Color Curators collection by Ballet Beautiful? Also, I can’t say too much about it yet, but May’s collection is going to be red hot and I’ll be sharing it soon!
