YOU GUYS. I’m sure you’ve seen/heard of this collection by now, because it’s major, and today I’m bringing you deets and swatches of the new Katy Perry COVERGIRL Katy Kat Collection. The collection is comprised of 11 Katy Kat Matte Lipsticks & 2 Katy Kat Eye mascaras, all created by Perry. I’m definitely a fan of hers and was so excited when news of this collaboration started floating around, and after getting my paws on it, I can easily say that my excitement was well deserved.
The collection has quite the interesting range of shades, with some rosy neutrals, deep crimson & berry shades, purples and even a black (which I have a feeling will be a popular one). Katy had a hand in designing each shade, which I think comes through in the collection. Personally, I’m really loving Maroon Meow & Cosmo Kitty – they have a ton of personality and look great on.
The lipsticks have a velvety, demi-matte finish, and are soft & nourishing due to the formula infused with shea butter. There’s nothing worse than a matte lipstick that dries your lips right out, and you won’t have to worry about that here. Smooth application and strong pigments make these a winner in my books.
In addition to the 11 Katy Kat Matte Lipsticks, two Katy Kat Eye mascaras have also been created. Available in black and Perry Blue (COVERGIRL’s first blue mascara), the twisted brush (not exactly my favourite design – you have to twist while you apply to get the best application) really helps to lengthen and separate the lashes for a flirty look. The blue is actually quite subtle and looks really nice in the light.
