Spring is seriously in the air here right now. The sun was shining away today and we hit a balmy 14 degrees Celsius. I was driving with the windows down. I picked up tulips at the market. Granted, we may be getting some snow tomorrow, but there’s no doubt that spring is around the corner at this point. I’m sure I’ve mentioned this in past years, but I absolutely adore spring makeup collections because they usually give you a chance to add more colour and playfulness to your makeup bag. Today I’m focusing on two new palettes from the new Dior Glow Addict Spring 2018 collection, which just might be some of the prettiest palettes Dior has put out to date.
The Dior Glow Addict Spring 2018 collection is all about femininity and sensuality, focusing on the colour pink and pulling inspiration from Maria Grazia Chiuri’s first collection, which is especially present in the two new 5 Couleurs palettes, Thrill and Flirt.
Both palettes are stunning to look at – maybe my favourite Dior palettes ever – which beautiful shades and stunning details inspired by the thread detailing in Maria Grazia Chiuri’s collection. They put the focus on pink throughout, witch complementary purples, champagnes, fuchsias, lilac & black shades thrown into the mix.
The Dior 5 Couleur palette in Thrill has a real pop of colour thanks to the fuchsia shade at the heart of it, and a beautiful burgundy shadow that will play really well into it. I love the idea of using the fuschia shade to add a little unexpected colour to a somewhat subtle look. Together, the shades have an ethereal effect – very much like a fairy tale in palette form. This palette is seriously gorgeous.
The Dior 5 Couleur palette in Flirt really lives up to its name; the 5 shadows involved work so well together, combining just the right amount of matte and shimmer. I do wish that the purple and black shades were a bit punchier – they mellow out a bit and don’t have as much pigmentation as I would like.
What do you think of the palettes in the Dior Glow Addict Spring 2018 collection?
