Rimmel Magnif’eyes Spice Edition Palette Review + Swatches

Hi! It’s me! I haven’t abandoned you! I took a few months off from blogging because, to be honest, I felt so demotivated about it. It was time to take a break, to try some different things and to get a totally different outlook on it before coming back because I wanted to make sure I could put 100% into it. There’s no point in doing anything half-assed, and I knew that if I just started throwing things on here for the hell of it I wouldn’t be putting my heart into it. Anyways, here I am, a few months down the road and I’m ready to jump back in. I want to put more of myself into this blog, which means that in addition to beauty, I’ll be sharing a lot more personal stories and posts that are more about lifestyle, fashion & travel. I’ve been thinking about rebranding as well but I know it will be a big and arduous step, so we’ll see how that goes. Let me know what you want to see more of in the comments below!

Anyways, today’s post is all about makeup; specifically, the new Rimmel Magnif’eyes Spice Edition Palette. I want to start off with a few posts on gorgeous new makeup that will get you totally summer-ready, and what better place to start than with a palette that is totally freaking hot?

The new Rimmel Magnif’eyes Spice Edition Palette ($11.99 CAD suggested price) is a total stunner at first glance. Made up of 12 warm shades, it legitimately is super spicy and so perfect for the summer months. I’ve been holding off on getting Urban Decay Naked Heat for a while because let’s face it, my boyfriend will kill me if I go out and buy another. When this one landed in my mailbox I couldn’t have been happier since it brings together such similar shades; if you’re looking for a drugstore dupe of this palette, you totally have it.

I mean, look at that. The shades are muy caliente and flow so perfectly together. With 7  soft matte shades and 5 unbelievable shimmers, all perfectly dispersed throughout, you can create tons of different looks.

And let me tell you, despite the low price point, they absolutely did not skimp on quality. These shadows glide on like butter. The matte shadows are smooth, soft and easily blendable, while the shimmers are almost creamy and definitely bold. I’m so impressed with the pigmentation of every single shade in this palette, including the lighter shades, which can sometimes be a bit of a miss. I also love that the light, white shade isn’t chalky – one of my pet peeves.

They also build up really nicely and since wearing them I haven’t experienced any issues with fallout or creasing – a major plus. If you’re looking for a new palette for the summer and don’t want to break the bank, I highly recommend picking up the Rimmel Magnif’eyes Spice Edition Palette. Between the 12 gorgeous shades, quality of the shadows and low price, you really can’t go wrong.

What’s your favourite warm-toned palette right now?
