Don’t you just love a good girls’ weekend away? It’s always so much fun getting out of your hometown with a few good friends to escape, relax, catch up and maybe get into a little bit of trouble. If you’re ready to get out of the city for some good old fashioned girl time, we found the perfect spots just over an hour outside of Toronto. Hockley Valley Resort was gracious enough to host Jenelle, Nicole, Amanda and me for a fun little getaway and we love every minute of it!
We had a blast getting away for a couple of days and really being able to relax. Hockley Valley Resort is a beautiful ski resort located in Mono, Ontario – but don’t worry if you’re not into skiing or snowboarding, there are still tons of things to do to keep busy (or not keep busy at all!). The rooms are beautiful and spacious and being able to stay right at the resort makes getting around and enjoying various activities even better (check out the video above to see our room!).
A few highlights that will make your trip to Hockley Valley Resort even more enjoyable:
Recreation Time: If you want to get a little active during your visit to Hockley Valley you won’t be disappointed. During the winter months, skiing and snowboarding are a must, and Hockley Valley Resort has a great set of hills that are perfect for everyone. Whether you’re just getting started or are a bit more advanced, you’ll find trails that will work for you.
During the summer months, you can also take advantage of their golf course, beautiful trails, bocce courts and ropes course.
Of course, I can’t leave out the swimming! With both indoor and outdoor pools and an indoor hot tub, it’s easy to relax in both the summer and winter.
Spa Time: There’s nothing better than a little relaxation time at the spa, right? Hockley Valley Resort has a fantastic spa in the middle of the hotel with a great array of services. I had a chance to enjoy a massage while there and absolutely loved it and the quiet environment. The best part? When you’re staying at the hotel, you can just wear your robe back to your room or nip down to the pool to relax even further. Oh, and you can order drinks and snacks from the hotel restaurant to enjoy while you relax and wait for your services.
Eat & Drink: Hockley Valley Resort has a few great dining options available. Breakfast is served every morning and you can relax and have an apres-ski cocktail at Babbo, the bar in the hotel lobby. For a more upscale dinner check out Cabin, located on the main floor.
Want to get off the property and try something different? Adamo Estate Winery is just down the street, with a convenient shuttle to take you back and forth between it and the resort. We had a chance to enjoy a fantastic tapas-style dinner there and were blown away by the food and delicious wine. This is definitely worth a stop and you won’t regret your visit!
Of course, there’s more to do in the area and the opportunities for adventure are endless. I had a fab time exploring Hockley Valley Resort this past winter and definitely want to check it out in the summer to experience all it has to offer. What other local destinations do you enjoy visiting?
