Beauty Breakdown: Glymm Mystery Box

I’ve got  a great share for you guys… Last month, I was lucky enough to be one of the winners in Glymm‘s Mystery Box contest.  I received my box last week, and was blown away by everything I received in it:

Let me give you a quick rundown of what I received:

  • MyFaceWorks I Need to Detox Mask
  • John Masters Organics Orange & Ginseng Exfoliating Bar
  • John Masters Organics Lip Calm
  • Butter London Banana File (one of the best files I’ve ever used)
  • Butter London Nail Polish
  • Blinc Mascara
  • and a cute leopard print compact

So far, I’ve had a chance to try the John Masters Lip Calm and Blinc Mascara.

John Masters Lip Calm ($8.40 at Glymm) – I love this lip balm.  In the fall/winter months, my lips get so dry, and I’ve had a hard time finding lip balms that can actually moisturize the way I need them to. Case in point: the dried out flaking lips I’ve been stuck trying to deal with for the past couple of weeks.  Luckily, this little tube came to my rescue last week.  With so many mositurizing ingredients (ie. olive oil, sunflower oil), this little tube packs quite the punch and is ideal for moisture rescue.  It also has a nice lemony scent that I really enjoy.

Blinc Mascara ($30.00 at Glymm) – this is, hands down, the craziest mascara I have ever come across.  That being said, I’m going to add it to my list of holy grails of the makeup world.  This isn’t your typical mascara.  Instead of painting the eyelashes, it actually coats them, creating a water-resistant tube around them, leaving them nicely long and defined.  Of course, I hadn’t read this before I tried it out the first time, and was a little bit weirded out when I washed my face that night and the mascara little came off in strands.  The fact that it creates a tube around the eyelashes means big things my friends.  This mascara doesn’t budge once it’s one.  It doesn’t run, smudge, or give you those “adorable” little raccoon eye smudges under your eyes by the end of the day.  I gave it a test to see how long it would last too, just to try out this claim… After applying it Saturday morning, I managed to not wash it off (I did wash my face and everything else, don’t worry!) until Sunday morning.  And by Sunday morning, my mascara still looked just like it did when I first applied it.  If you’re looking for a mascara that’s going to last – you’ve just found it.  It’s a miracle.

I still haven’t had a chance to try out the rest of these prducts, so look for reviews coming soon.
