A couple of weeks ago I was able to take part in a fun makeup lesson with Almay and Almay’s National Trainer Jacquie Hutchinson, where we were able to learn how to easily put together a flawless face using a few key Almay products. We had a hands on lesson on using these products to enhance our features and to play up various aspects of our faces, and I was more than happy to take a few tips away from it! I thought I would take you through the lesson so you can give this look a try at home!
First, a fresh, clean base is always important. Remove any traces of makeup and oil from the skin using the Almay Makeup Remover Towelettes, and any stubborn eye makeup with the Almay Gentle Eye Makeup Remover Pads. Once the surface of the skin is clean, it’s important to set the perfect base so your makeup has something to stick to (this is going to make it last longer). The Almay CC Luminous Primer is perfect for prepping the skinand helps to give the skin a healthy glow.
From there, it’s time to even out your skin tone. The Almay Smart Shade Skintone Matching Makeup with SPF 20 starts off white and seamlessly blends into the skin as it self adjusts and transforms to match with your skin colour (something you really need to experience first hand to believe it!). Jacquie instructed us to apply this with our fingertips to give of a well-blended, natural looking finish – think no-makeup-makeup.
Next up is the eyes. Almay has made it super easy to find the perfect match for your eyes with products tailored to your eye colour. For the record, all of the products I used were designed to enhance the look of green eyes, with aubergine tones to them. The Almay Intense i-Color Smoky-i Kit were designed to help take the guesswork out of the smoky eye. Start by applying the darkest shade to the entire eyelid up to the crease, then blend the middle shade into the crease for nice shading. Finish this look off by applying the lightest shade to the browbone and the inner corner of the eye for nice highlighting. From there, add some definition to your lid by applying a thin line of the Almay Intense i-Color Liquid Liner right along the lash line, lightly pulling out on the side of the eye for smoother application. Afterwards, apply a couple of coats of the Almay Intense i-Color Volumizing MAscara to the lashes to make your eyes really pop.
After this, add a bit of a glow to your face using the Almay Smart Shade Bronzer, buffing it into the face with the included brush or a bronzer blush, ensuring to focus on the areas of the face that the sun naturally hits for a more natural look. Finally, finish off the look by adding a bit of colour to the lips with the Almay Color + Care Liquid Lip Balm, which helps to moisturise while looking fab. These feel amazing on the lips!
