Clinique made waves with the launch of their Pop Blushes last year – my blogger friends couldn’t stop talking about them with their beautiful colours & formulas and gorgeous flower detailing. They’ve done it once again with a launch that I’m absolutely loving so far. The new Clinique Pop Lip Colour and Primers are a dream come true for a lipstick obsessed gal like myself!
As you may have guessed, these lipsticks function as both a primer for smooth, moist lips and a colour with bold pigmentation. The range is split into 4 different colour families – nudes, pinks, tawnies & violets – with 4 lip colours in each, making it easy to find shades that suit your skintone and preference. They colour payoff is really quite remarkable, as each shade is very pigmented – they go on exactly as they appear in the tube. And the formula? Clinique gets an A+ on this one. They’re unbelievably creamy and pleasantly nourishing, with Shea and Murumuru butter helping to moisturize the lips while worn. The result? Beautiful colour, long lasting wear (especially with some of the darker shades I tried) and soft, supple looking lips. Swoon. Read on for swatches of 8 shades from the 16 shade collection!
Beige Pop – “A light, pinkish nude cream”
Nude Pop – “A low, pearl pinkish nude”
Fab Pop – “A light, light pink creme”
Love Pop – “A mid-tone shimmer raspberry”
Grape Pop – “A neutral, blue purple creme”
Punch Pop – “A rich, rich fuchsia creme”
Poppy Pop – “A mid-tone orange creme”
Cherry Pop – “A rich, blue red creme”
What do you think of these shades? I’m totally digging Beige Pop, Grape Pop (definitely developing a thing for purple hued lipsticks lately) and Cherry Pop (GET. THIS. SHADE. Jessica Rabbit would be envious).
And a side by side comparison for ya:
