In case you haven’t noticed, I’m all about refreshing your look for the season. That being said, I’m also a big fan of doing this on a budget. Walmart makes it easy to get a whole new look when you want to save, and challenged myself and other bloggers to put together a look for less!
I took a look at their spring lookbook (which you can view here) and loved the section on “how to make an impact!” I set out to my local Walmart with this inspiration in mind and started browsing the racks, armed with a $100 gift card.
My main goal was to put together a complete look from head to get me spring/summer ready. I started off by looking for a killer outfit to work off of and quickly found this amazing black and white striped maxi dress for only $16! It fits so nicely and is unbelievable comfortable. From there it was onto accessories. I wanted to play off of the lookbook theme I’d seen early and looked for fun pops of colour to add in to my look. I came across these fun, bright pink flip flops for $9 and these fab neon sunglasses for $9 – how amazing are the flamingos inside the arms?? Of course, I needed a purse to finish off the outfit and fell in love with this bucket bag for $16.
Now that the outfit portion was complete, I had to ramp up my beauty bag for the warmer weather. For me, warm weather makeup and beauty is all about looking and feeling fresh while being effortless. A bb cream, like this CoverGirl CGSmoothers version ($8.97) moisturizes and evens out the skintone while being light, and the NYC Sun’n’Bronze Powder ($4.97) adds a gorgeous glow on top of this. A little colour on my lids with the L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche quad in Rose Nude ($9.96) and a swipe of Maybelline’s Lash Sensational Mascara in Very Black ($5.96) – the waterproof version – gives a pretty rose look that won’t budge through pool parties. A little Maybelline Baby Lips Crystal in Crystal Kiss ($3.46) gives lips a bit of shine and moisture, and Wet’n’Wild Wild Shine polish in Tickled Pink ($1.57) is the perfect pale pink. All that’s left is to run some got2b Smooth Operator Smoothing Lustre Lotion ($4.47) through my hair to help smooth and defrizz.
All in all, I think I managed to pull together a fantastic head to toe spring & summer look for a total of $99.85 (after tax) – an amazing deal! What’s your favourite look from the Look Book?
