Over the past few years, skincare has become a big part of my life. As a beauty blogger I’m always trying new products & constantly have different makeup on my face, and my face also deals with other factors such as stress, hormones and the environment. What does this mean? I want to be sure that I’m always using the best products to help treat, protect and nourish my skin.
When I was approached to become an ambassador for Refresh Botanicals, a new Canadian skincare line, I was definitely intrigued by it’s premise. The line is all-natural, gluten-free and 96% organic, meaning that there are no added chemicals or junk being added in which your skin really doesn’t need. Reading through the ingredients sounds kind of like a grocery list, which I like. The brand’s main proprietary blend of cucumber water and cornflower extract is the base of all the products due to its ability to calm even the most distressed skin, brighten and refresh. Other natural botanicals, including blends of oils and extracts, continue to work their magic to tone, exfoliate and bring much-needed moisture back to thirsty skin.
The line currently consists of 7 products, which has been divided into two lines. The basic line contains everything you need to get you skincare routine up and started – the Foaming Facial Cleanser, Facial Toner, Eye & Face Makeup Remover and the Daily Facial moisturizer all come together to take care of your main skincare needs. The extra care line lets you add in a little bit more help where you need it in your routine; the BB Cream, Night Restore Complex and Intensive Serum help to target bigger problem areas to help you find the results that you need.
Overall, I’ve really been loving the line so far. All of the products are really light and gentle, and don’t contain any additional scents other than those that come from the natural ingredients (some of them have a hint of the freshest cucumber scent, which really wakes me up in the morning), meaning they’re great for those of you with sensitive skin. A couple of standout products for me have to be the Foaming Facial Cleanser and the Facial Toner from my first few weeks of usage – these both feel fantastic on my skin and leave my face feeling clean and renewed without every being tight or dry, which is a big plus for me. These, in combination with the Daily Facial moisturizer, have definitely started to brighten my skin and I’ve started to notice a more even tone, which is great – I’m getting more open to going makeup-free during the day!
I’m going to keep using these products over the next few months as I learn to Refresh my Routine with Refresh Botanicals and will keep you updated! In the meantime, as part of the program, I’ve been learning to refresh my routine in other ways as well – so far I’ve been paddle boarding (which was a total blast!) and took part in a yoga lesson on Toronto Island (believe it or not, my first time trying yoga… and I loved it!). Follow along with the #RefreshYourRoutine hashtag on social to see what else myself and the other ambassadors get up to!
