I’ve finally hit my breaking point with the grayness of winter. Every day, I look out the window in my office and everything just looks so blah. I’m ready for a dose of colour and sunshine, and the new Elizabeth Arden Sunset Bronze collection has this in spades.
Oozing with golden goodness, this collection just screams “take me to the beach and let me bask in the sun!” and I’m quite alright with that. I’ve got a trip planned to Costa Rica to visit my parents next week, but in the meantime, I’m counting on this collection to get me glowing again. As with other Arden, products, many of these are all full of ingredients that take them beyond just makeup, adding in a dose of skincare. Let’s take a walk through it, shall we?
The Sunset Bronze Prismatic Bronzing Powder (shown in Warm Bronze – also available in Deep Bronze), $48 CAD, is perfect for adding a sun-kissed glow. Microlight minerals help to diffuse light and help blur imperfections, while this warm bronzer adds a touch of warmth to the skin. The formula is silky, thanks to ultra fine silica and mica minerals, and applies nicely, while easily blending in to the skin. It does have a hint of shimmer, but this was mainly in the overspray and not spread throughout the product. The Sunset Bronze Prismatic Highlighter, $34.50 CAD, is a stunner. It’s creamy, it glides on the skin like a dream, and leaves behind a shimmering look with a gorgeous dewy finish. I’m head over heels for this chubby highlighter – add a swipe to the top of the cheek & brow bones for a pretty, just spent the day on the beach look.
It was love at first sight for the Sunset Bronze Prismatic Eyeshadow Palette, $50 CAD, and I. I’ve always been a big fan of purple hues when it comes to shadow, and this palette got my heart racing. I appreciate that they didn’t go full bronze with the collection, and instead opted to add in a little diversity with this palette. Full of warm rose gold and purple shades, this 5 shadow palette definitely exceeded my expectations. The long-wearing powders are beautifully pigmented, with gorgeous colour and lovely shimmer that’s perfect for the warmer weather – just take a look at the swatches above to see for yourself. Application itself is fantastic, as the shadows glide on almost as if they were cream and not powder.
The Sunset Bronze Prismatic Lip Glosses (shown in Moonlight Kiss & Sunset Kiss – also available in Midnight Kiss), $25 CAD, give sheer, iridescent colour with a shimmering, glossy finish. They don’t add a ton of colour, and are perfect for daytime wear. They’re also packed with lip conditioning ingredients, like Aloe Vera and Vitamins A, C & E, to keep lips feeling soft and moisturized.
Are you ready for spring? What shades will you be reaching for as the warmer weather arrives?
