Lately, I’ve been giving a lot more thought to the products that I use and what goes into them. What we use on our bodies goes in our bodies, so to speak, and more and more companies are making it easier to make choices that we can feel confident about when it comes to purchasing these. When I heard of the new Matrix Biolage R.A.W. (click through for more info) line, a collection of hair products designed to be “Real, Authentic and Wholesome” I knew I had to give it a try.
The collection of shampoos, conditioners and clay masks was created with the intention of developing a lineup of products with an origin that is as natural as possible. They contain amazing natural ingredients, like coconut oil, kaolin clay, quinoa husk and black sesame, to provide hair with a wholesome treatment that doesn’t take away from performance. The products all have up to 95% natural origin, and are free of silicones, sulfates (a big one for me, as someone who colours their hair) and parabens. And, to make things even better, all of the packaging is 100% recyclable and made from consumer recycled materials.
I’ve tried out all three pairs of the Matrix Biolage R.A.W. shampoo and conditioner, and I’ve had a really positive experience with all three; I can honestly say that they don’t compromise on performance, and leave the hair feeling great. I’m really enamored with the Uplift Shampoo and Conditioner. I have fine hair that tends to fall flat, especially after the second and third day, but but with the use of this I’ve actually noticed that my hair has a bit more lift and maintains its body after a few days, which is key for me. Black sesame and grapefruit help to purify, while kiwi and kaolin clay condition without weighing the hair down at the root. I’m also a fan of using the Nourish and Recover pairs for the few washes before I colour my hair – they help to restore moisture and softness that makes colouring easier and more effective, while minimizing damage.
They also all have amazing natural (and eco-friendly!) scents – it really says something about the product when you can smell the ingredients.
Overall, are these RAW products a success? I’m very happy to report that the Matrix Biolage R.A.W. collection lives up to their intentions. The ingredients that were sourced help to provide amazing benefits for the hair, while maintaining a wholesome balance. I’m a big fan of these and will definitely continue using them to keep my hair healthy.
