Ahhh. Spring has finally sprung; the trees are blooming, the sunshine is returning and the warmer weather is on its way. It means that it’s time to enjoy long weekends & cottage trips. Today I’m sharing my long weekend style essentials and some of the cute #DixieDeals I picked up at the Dixie Outlet Mall. These pieces will definitely be in heavy rotation for me this season and into the summer.
Since things are still warming up a little, a cute jacket (pictured from Urban Planet, $30) is an absolute must. I love having a lightweight jacket that I can just throw on over anything to protect from the wind and rain when I’m out. It isn’t too heavy but adds that little layer of protection from the elements and inevitable mosquitos.
For cooler nights spent by a bonfire, you can’t go wrong with a cozy sweater (sweater pictured from Dynamite, $2 – yes, $2). Wrap yourself up in a soft one to keep yourself warm when things get a little chilly. And if you’re like me and plan on spending your spring & summer going on adventures – there’s never been a better time than Canada’s 150th to get out and explore – grab a pair of sneakers (sneakers pictured from Urban Planet, $12) to keep your feet protected and comfortable.
Printed shorts (shorts pictured from GUESS, on sale for $32) are always a great option. Whether you go with a pattern or print (like these flamingos I’m so enamored with), they add a little personality to any outfit and they go great with a sweater. Pair them with a cute, loose tank (top pictured from Winners, $17) and you’ve got a perfect sunny day outfit.
Of course, if you’re planning on a weekend getaway you’ll need a cute bag that can hold everything you need. A large weekender bag (bag pictured from Call It Spring, on sale for $40) doubles as a purse and is great for packing your clothes, toiletries and anything else you need for a road trip, beach day or cottage escape.
