The beauty world went into a tizzy last year when Urban Decay announced the retirement of their much-loved Naked Palette, one of the OGs that has become a staple for many with a cult following. Seriously, we all panicked and tried to get our hands on a new one before they disappeared from shelves forever – though UD has come out with several other versions since it first launched, including a few of my fave palettes. Well, fret no more, because they’ve launched the Urban Decay Naked Reloaded palette, meant to satiate the needs of all of us who are still mourning the loss of the original.
The Urban Decay Naked Reloaded palette continues on the path that the original Naked palette started on, playing with neutrals and finding new shades and ways to bring them together.
The Naked Reloaded palette features 12 shadows, four of which Urban Decays believes are going to be MVPs – Bribe, Barely Baked, Boundaries and Blur – which come in larger pans as they’ll likely be more frequently used as
The packaging is prettyyyy… I love the sleek, plush look of it. One interesting thing they did with this palette is drop the double-ended brush that typically comes with their palettes. Let’s be honest, we all have a million of these that we don’t use, and they encourage you to use your favourite brushes to create your looks.
The standout shades, for me, are Retro, Reputation and Burn – they look gorgeous together and have great pigment. End Game and Distilled are gorgeous as well and go on beautifully. I love that there are quite a few matte shades in this palette – it makes it easier to put looks together and the shimmers and glitters complement them really well.
A few of the lighter shades didn’t pack enough punch for me – Bribe and Blur needed a little bit of work to really do anything for me, but they’ll work nicely as base shades or brow highlight when playing around with this palette. I also found the glitter shade Dreamweaver to apply a little bit clumpy, so you’ll need to make sure that you really blend for nice application.
So, what do I think? The Urban Decay Naked Reloaded palette is definitely a win for me. It has some nice, warm shades, which is what I like, and reminds me a little bit of Naked Heat, which is one of my faves. I love that they included a gorgeous peach shade (Retro); it’s a beautiful crease shade and reminds me of the shade Still Shot from the Born to Run Palette, which I love. Their newest twist on neutrals was a win for me. What do you think of this one?
